Cardboard superpowers and kryptonite
Cardboard Jar Innovation
Cardboard elegantly answers heaps of packaging considerations. It protects product from heat and cold and light. It is very hardwearing, constructed quite strong and handles some moisture. But it can't go swimming, the cardboard will soak up the water!
We've taken our jars backpacking, let it roll around in a sailing bag and kept it in the our car, even upside down. It won't make a mess but you may want to secure the jar in a bag to make sure the lids stays on.
You can also transfer your product to your favourite working cosmetic container, whether it beautiful amber glass on your nightstand, or polypropylene plastic that will put up with your robust life.

How's this Cardboard Jar Made?
We trialed a single size for a year before launching the Minis. We also vetted every component part that goes into the making of the cardboard jar.
Here's some component details
•Certified FSC cardboard
•Soy inks tested for heavy metals
•Super thin inner and outer coating of food grade, plant-based PLA wax paper tested to EU DIN-CERTCO compostability standard
•Note: as we have not undergone an entire packaging compostability test we cannot claim compostability. If you have a garden and compost system, we'd love to hear how you go. As the cardboard will be oily, it is not a good recycling option. Like the greasy pizza box, the paper recovery are not keen on it. For now, this jar is a better rubbish option, as low toxin and easy to break down as possible.
There's no perfect answer, but this one is step closer!
