Over the years we've been keeping track of how many plastic twist up tubes you've diverted by using the small aluminium tins for your lip balm.
Every aluminium tin that you use diverts between 2.86 and 3.57 plastic twist up lip balm tubes.
The number's gotten impressive.
We started offering balm in small aluminium tins in 2013. In just over ten years, the total number of plastic twist tubes diverted as a result of using an aluminium tin is a big number.
As of March 2024, that is 355,679 of them!
People might think, well it's only a little piece of plastic. But look what impact we can have together over years.

For NZ customers, please do NOT put your small tins in curbside recycling. They are too small to be captured and will just be rubbish :-(
The newly implemented nationwide NZ recycling scheme has changed the landscape for small packaging. It excludes all packaging under 50mm in two directions- that's about the size of my palm.
If you can wash them and keep them gathered, there's a whole lot of capable people helping me work on solutions for this.
If you are ready for a fresh tin- they've gotten all shiny in the last few months. The tins are better wearing and smoother threads. We're getting better all the time, just like you.
